Zeltex ZX-101SQ Portable Octane analyzer test fuel quality quickly and accurately. ZX-101SQ is a portable octane analyzer that uses near-infrared technology to measure the octane number (RON and MON), Cetane number, Cetane Index, ethanol content, Biodiesel and Biodiesel % and other fuel properties of gasoline, ethanol blends, and biofuels.
Fuel analysis is typically done using a CFR engine, which is time-consuming, expensive, and destroys the sample. ZX-101SQ portable fuel octane analyzers offer a faster and non-destructive alternative, with results that are highly comparable to those obtained from CFR engines.
The ZX-101SQ delivers lab-accurate results in minutes without destroying the sample or requiring calibration.
Easy to use fuel analyzer with touch screen interface and with step-by-step instructions. ZX-101SQ portable Octane analyzer will print the results once the test is finished using a built-in printer and scan the sample ID using a barcode scanner. Also, store up to 100 results in its memory or export them to a USB drive or a PC.
With the new ZX-101SQ, fuel analysis is now even more convenient and reliable, allowing you to analyze fuel samples on the go, exactly when and where you need.

Ethanol is a renewable biofuel that can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. However, ethanol can also have some negative effects on some engines. It can cause corrosion, phase separation, and water absorption. A portable octane analyzer can measure how much ethanol is in the fuel and adjust engine settings accordingly.
Portable octane analyzers are useful for many purposes such as:
- Field testing: Test fuels at gas stations, storage tanks, pipelines, refineries, etc.
- Quality control: Check the quality and consistency of fuels during production, transportation, storage, and distribution.
- Regulatory compliance: Assure the fuels meet the standards and regulations of different countries or regions.
- Research and development: Evaluate the performance and characteristics of new or alternative fuels.
