The Rigaku NEX CG II Series is a breakthrough ED XRF Analyzer engineered for laboratories and industries demanding the highest sensitivity, reliability, and flexibility in elemental analysis. Leveraging advanced energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence technology, the NEX CG II delivers rapid, non-destructive, multi-element measurements from trace to percent levels across an unmatched range of sample types—including oils, liquids, solids, metals, polymers, powders, pastes, coatings, and thin films.

Advanced 3D Cartesian Geometry for Superior Performance

Unlike conventional XRF systems, the NEX CG II employs a unique close-coupled 3D Cartesian Geometry optical kernel with secondary target excitation. This design dramatically increases the peak-to-background ratio, achieving exceptionally low detection limits—even in challenging matrices such as water, hydrocarbons, and biological materials. The result is precise trace element analysis, critical for industrial quality control, environmental monitoring, and advanced research.

Indirect Excitation & High-Throughput Detection

The indirect excitation system uses monochromatic and polarized secondary targets to eliminate background noise and improve detection limits. The large-area SDD (silicon drift detector) ensures high count rates, superior peak resolution, and the lowest possible limits of detection for both major and trace elements.

Intuitive Software & Automation

NEX CG II is powered by QuantEZ® software, providing intuitive instrument control, customizable methods, and streamlined routine operation. The RPF-SQX Fundamental Parameters software enables both semi-quantitative and rigorous quantitative analysis, reducing the need for expensive calibration standards and lowering cost of ownership. Automated sample handling options, including changers for up to 52 mm samples and sample spinners, maximize throughput and accommodate non-uniform or large samples.

Flexible Analysis Environments

With analysis possible in air, helium, or vacuum, the NEX CG II delivers superior light element sensitivity and is adaptable to a wide range of sample types and laboratory environments. Detector protection features and robust construction ensure reliable, long-term operation.

Industry-Leading Applications

From industrial and in-plant quality assurance to research and development, the NEX CG II is ideal for:

  • Agricultural soils and plant materials
  • Finished animal feeds
  • Waste oils and lubricants
  • Environmental samples (air, water, soil)
  • Pharmaceuticals and cosmetics
