The JAS Preparative Fraction collector (EzPrep) for gas chromatography is the ideal solution for sample collection, component isolation and purification from complex matrices.
Easy to use JAS EzPrep is a software controlled fully automated robust solution for fraction collection. EzPrep is a proven solution and users commend highly on it’s simplicity, flexibility and reliability.
Operation
The automated liquid sampler injects the sample into the capillary or packed column inlet of the gas chromatograph. After separation, the components or component groups elute from the analytical column are detected by the FID or TCD detector and a chromatogram is created.
Either single peaks or groups of compounds can be isolated. The traps can be cooled or heated (optional) for appropriate collection of low or high boiling compounds. The JAS PrepLab Software allows the user to easily set and control the traps, the peak selection and peak cutting process.
After being separated from the sample matrix, the components of interest can be transferred to other analysis techniques or detectors like MSD, NMR or UV/VIS.
JAS PrepLab Software – automatic retention time adjustment:
The process of setting the cutting times for the components of interest is controlled by the JAS PrepLab Software. It is embedded in the Agilent GC ChemStation Software and offers an automatic retention time adjustment. Based on the monitoring detector chromatogram the peak areas are integrated based on their retention times. By clicking either in the runtime table or in the chromatogram the user can set the cutting times for single compounds. Also groups of peaks can be collected together by integrating the area of interest.
Cutting times can be further customized by manually editing the desired collecting windows, by placing it a certain time before the compounds elute and after. After the individual settings the cutting times and sample trap number labelling will be shown in the original chromatogram. The JAS PrepLab automatic retention time adjustment is a real differentiator and indispensable for long sequence often required for isolating or enriching small quantity compounds.
