The unique Copper Digital Detection Imaging instrument (CuDDi) identifies exact levels of corrosion in petroleum products through a 4-step automated vision algorithm ending the operator bias.
Copper corrosion has become a critical indicator of sulphur compounds present in products after refining. Before the automated Copper Corrosion Test Rater CuDDi, measuring corrosivity in petroleum products was challenging.
With no standard procedures for Copper corrosion test ratings, the copper corrosion test ratings resulted in human error and bias due to visual assessments.
CuDDI’s patented Copper corrosion test rating takes the guesswork out of the copper corrosion strip rating.
Adhering to ASTM D130 and D1838, CuDDI precisely identifies corrosivity levels and eliminates operator bias through a 4-step automated vision algorithm and classification process.
Its unique vision algorithm and lightbox record, calculate and display accurate corrosivity ratings in seconds.
CuDDI’s simplified and breakthrough procedure improves ratings for corrosion test methods and sample handling. A motorised rotation of the copper strip with a motor combined with sophisticated optics and a high-resolution camera provides better precision and accuracy. CuDDi covers a corrosion detection range of 1a through 4C.
Results are digitally recorded and seamless integration with LIMS software. The results are not only a groundbreaking improvement on current laboratory procedures but also the new standard for copper detection.
